May it be a light to you in dark places, when all other lights go out.
Some days ago I finally got to experience this year's Lux Helsinki! Lux Helsinki is one of my all time favorite events in Helsinki - an annual highlight you could say. The free urban event Lux Helsinki offers unique light experiences during the darkest time of the year. Today is the last day of the event for this year.
Joitakin päivä sitten kävin viimein ja vihdoin kokemassa tämän vuotisen Lux Helsingin! Lux Helsinki on yksi suosikkitapahtumistani Helsingissä - todellinen vuosittainen kohokohta! Tämä maksuton kaupunkitapahtuma tarjoaa ainutlaatuisia elämyksiä vuoden pimeimpänä aikana. Tänään on tapahtuman viimeinen päivä.
This year's exciting and surprising route consists of twelve beautiful light installations. Me and my boy followed most of the route and were lead from the Senate Square to the commercial center of the city, then along the shore of Töölönlahti bay, past the National Opera’s amphitheatre to the Hesperia Park. We also visited the National Museum, the Hakasalmi Villa and the Helsinki Music Centre.
Many of the light installations had music as well, and watching the pieces of art was actually quite touching. It's incredible how light, especially combined with music, can affect us emotionally. You can read more about the event and details about the light installations on the Lux Helsinki website. Have a look at the beautiful light installations!
oh, did you know there was a very similar event in Tallinn not long ago? I myself didn't see it in live since I'm 150 km away from the capital town but I saw parts of it via tv and internet and it was pretty cool! from your photos my favourite is the first one because it's the most colourful one. and I would definitely love to see something like that in real life one day when I get the chance.

How amazing! The colors are beautiful! Forgive me please, anybody from Hanover, for what I will say: when I studied there, there was an event called Illumination, at a famous garden there.... but it is noooo way like this one in Helsinki - I guess yours was the best I have ever seen (I mean through your blog!) Fantastic pictures, wish I had seen the event live! denisesplanet com
